  • Please call 9627 1177 or email intake@wellbe.net.au

  • - A referral addressed to our practice;

    - A valid Mental Health Care Plan;

    - Your Medicare card;

    - Your debit/credit card, which is solely used for the purpose of a late cancellation or non-attendance fee.

  • If you do not have a Medicare card, you are still able to access our services. In some circumstances it is possible to claim a rebate from Medicare when you see a mental health social worker or psychologist. To obtain a rebate, you first need to see your GP and obtain a Mental Health Care Plan. This plan will enable you to obtain a rebate from Medicare for your counselling service.

  • If you do not have Medicare, the sessions with a psychologist or mental health social worker are $140-$190.

    Many private health funds in Australia cover psychology services as part of their Extras cover. Please make your own enquiries with your Health Fund to determine whether or not your policy covers you, and to what extent.

  • Medicare only covers individual counselling and therapy. Relationship therapy for couples or families is not covered by Medicare, and nor is counselling by a professional counsellor or psychotherapist.

  • Under the mental health care plan, the following services are not bulk-billed: couples or family therapy, court reports and/or other letters from your practitioner, late cancellation or non-attendance fees, sessions with our student counsellors, and psychometric testing and assessments. If you have any specific questions or concerns, please let us know when you contact us.

  • Your session is strictly confidential and will not be released outside the clinic without your permission. The only time a practitioner may release information is if they believe you are at risk of harm, if you have provided consent to share information with a third party, if they are mandated to report abuse of an individual under the age of 16, or if subpoenaed by a court of law.

  • Yes, we will do our best to accommodate you to meet with the practitioner of your choice, but we are unable to guarantee this as sometimes our practitioners may already be booked out and unable to take new bookings.

  • Our intake team is a group of student counsellors from different backgrounds and age groups – counselling, psychology, and social work. They are completing their final requirements before registering to become an accredited professional.

  • The first session is free of charge and ongoing counselling sessions are $33per session. Please note that the student counsellors are not able to provide any documents other than a certificate of attendance and sessions are not able to be claimed for a rebate through private health insurance, WorkCover or Medicare.

Frequently Asked Questions

Cancellation Policy

When appointments are booked, the practitioner reserves that hour for you. Therefore, the following cancellation policy is in place:

We require 24 hours’ notice to reschedule or cancel a session without occurring any extra fees. This ensures we can offer the allocated time to another client who may be on a cancellation or waiting list for an appointment. A fee of up to $120 will be charged for non-attendance or cancellation of a session with less than 24 hours' notice.

A late cancelled appointment is a loss to three people:

  • The client who is delaying their therapy progress

  • Another client who is on the waiting list to see the psychologist

  • The psychologist who has prepared for the session.

To cancel, please email us promptly at intake@wellbe.net.au

Please note that Medicare does not cover any cancellations or non-attendance of clients.

EXCEPTIONS:

1) Unexpected illness/accident where a dated medical certificate is supplied on the health provider’s letterhead or, in the case of a friend/family member’s illness, a similarly dated and signed note on medical/hospital letterhead naming you as attending to support someone else who is ill. (Note: we do not require details of the illness).

2) Sudden death of family/friend or funeral. A note on letterhead, indicating you are a close friend or family member of the deceased, signed and dated by the doctor certifying the death is required. Funeral “orders of service” which show the date it is held are also accepted in the case of sudden deaths, along with death notices in newspapers if and only if the client is specifically named among the bereaved.

In fairness to the professionals who provide services for us and our other clients, Wellbe does not make any further appointments with the original practitioner or any other practitioner until this fee is cleared.

  • You may email intake@wellbe.net.au or call our main line on 02 9627 1177 to cancel. If your call is not answered, you may leave a voicemail over the weekend or after-hours. These voicemails are time-stamped so you do not need to worry about a late cancellation fee being charged if you are giving us 24-hours’ notice.

  • Due to confidentiality reasons, you may not book or cancel an appointment on behalf of someone else if they are over the age of 18. In exceptional circumstances, we require the client to contact us directly or to provide us with written consent that they are allowing a third-party to book or cancel on their behalf.
